  • First and Third Saturday: 08:30 AM – 03:00 PM
  • Second and Fourth Saturday: 08:30 AM – 12: 00 PM

Library Rules and Regulations

General Library Rules and Regulations

  • User have to scan their ID card on the gate register before entering the library.
  • Strict silence, decorum and discipline must be maintained in the library.
  • Use of cell phones is also not allowed.
  • Smoking, eating, sleeping and talking loudly are strictly prohibited in the library.
  • Documents taken out of the shelves must be left on the table. Replacing the books on shelves is not encouraged as it may get misplaced.
  • A non-member can use the library material on the premises with the permission of the Librarian.
  • Readers should not mark, underline, write, tear pages or otherwise damage the library documents. If it happens the defaulters must pay the fine.
  • Newspapers, magazine and journals must be read only in the library on specific tables and should not be taken to any other reading areas.
  • No library material can be taken out of the library without the proper permission. Unauthorized removal of anything belonging to the library will be treated as theft and dealt accordingly.
  • Anyone who violates the rules and regulations of the library would be liable to lose the privilege of library membership and may be debarred from using the library facilities.
  • Suggestions on all aspects of library services are welcome.

Digital Library Rules and Regulations

  • The use of the Digital Library Facility is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  • Users must carry their Identity card while using the Digital Library.
  • Each user at a stretch is allowed only for one hour for computer use in Digital Library.
  • Library computers are strictly for academics use ONLY.
  • Users are required to create a folder on the desktop to store the downloaded documents temporarily and then take help of Digital Library staff to transfer the same to own storage devices.
  • Silence shall be observed at all times. Loud conversations and rowdy behavior inside the Digital Library will not be tolerated.
  • Personal Laptop, Keyboard, Mouse, etc are not allowed inside the Digital Library.
  • Internet and intranet access is limited to academic pursuit only i.e. subscribed online databases, University websites/NPTEL web course/DELNET/ INFLIBNET and open-source educational sites.
  • Online chatting, browsing of social networking sites, playing games and other non- academic activities are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED. Any person found guilty of such will be ordered to leave or else face disciplinary actions.
  • Downloading, installing and running of software other than those already installed on the computer stations are not allowed.
  • Users should not remove/unplug computer cables/connections, network cables and other peripherals/accessories in the Digital library.
  • Illegal/Unlawful activities such as (but not limited to) hacking, deleting of files, changing/tweaking of system configurations/passwords resulting to damage of systems and networks are prohibited.
  • In case of any computer operational or access problem, report to the library staffs.
  • The Digital Library staff on duty has the right to request the user to leave the premises if he/she is found to be violating any of these rules.
